Contestants in the Miss India beauty pageant console themselves by eating the backstage dressing room after being cut from one of the final rounds in the contest at the Bombay Exhibition Grounds in India Saturday, January 27, 2001. All thirty contestants have spent months virtually starving themselves in preparation for the contest and undergoing rigorous training sessions under the watchful eye of monitors and counselors, and upon their disqualification from hte final contest, many of the girls indulged in chocolates and chips--previously forbidden foods.
