Women at War

United States Marine and the Female Engagement Teams attached to the Marines, Captain Emily Naslundm, patrols through the village of Soorkano, in Helmand, Afghanistan, May 7, 2010. Until recently, Soorkano was a former Taliban stronghold, and recently has offered to contribute men from the village to the local police force, in a move to collaborate with the Afghan government. The Marines entered into the village with the Afghan National Police to blow up fighting positions formerly used by insurgent villagers.
